As well as Nikki helping with the admin-side of the ‘Dr Mark’ business - and drawing on their shared common professional expertise, training and experience - Nikki and Dr Mark together have devised a range of health and wellbeing CPD/INSET options for teachers - designed specifically for the teachers themselves as acknowledged busy professionals.
In an ‘earlier period’ Nikki had a successful career in banking before changing track. After gaining a degree in Economics, she undertook her fast-track graduate training in London before becoming a Director of a leading British national bank at the tender age of 29 - one of the youngest females to be appointed a Director in the bank's history. Amongst many banking career highlights, Nikki obtained the Healthy Working Lives Award for her business in recognition of the Health and Wellbeing Initiative she devised for her division.
Becoming increasingly focused on the ‘health and wellbeing’ of staff, and having an interest in traditional medicine, Nikki took the plunge in a dramatic career-change and retrained for four years as a Medical Herbalist in Glasgow and London, gaining a first class honours vocational degree in Herbal Medicine, including orthodox medical training. She was awarded the national Arthur Barker prize for her final examination grades – one of the highest grades in the UK. Nikki also has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques.
Towards the end of her banking career, Nikki met Dr Mark in Transylvania on a Dracula Tour at Halloween (a long story!). It was love at first bite, and they married in 2008 in a haunted palace in Scotland, at Halloween!
