Practical Activities to Help You Engage, Motivate & Inspire Your Pupils to Achieve & Attain!

“…teachers’ skills make more difference to pupils’ development than class sizes or the quality of the school.”

- Extract from article: ‘Persistent Professor Returns’, The TES, August 18th 2006

As you can see from the menu on the left, Dr Mark currently offers three main CPD/INSET sessions, each with a ‘part 1’ and ‘part 2’ option. The ‘part 2’ options, introduced in the 2006-2007 academic year, are intended for clients who have already had ‘part 1’ and would like to see even more ideas along the same theme. It could also be the ‘day 2’ of a two-day booking for the same topic.

The sessions can be held in a client’s school or other venue, and can be delivered in three different ways: half, one or extended school days.

Some client feedback:

…"INSPIRATIONAL"….. "A Fantastic INSET!"…"Excellent! The BEST INSET I have EVER had!"…

- Typical samples of teachers’ feedback about Dr Mark’s CPD/INSET

Typical sample of feedback about the ‘INSPIREmathsTM’ teachers’ CPD/INSET:

"Evaluations were extremely positive and teachers very much appreciated your enthusiastic approach to mathematical problem solving. Many commented that they found your session inspirational and that your ideas would have a real impact on their teaching."

- Claire Harris, Schools Advisory Service, Kent County Council (2006)

Typical sample of feedback about the ‘INSPIREscienceTM’ teachers’ CPD/INSET:

"Teachers definitely felt inspired to use different approaches to many of the science topics they delivered. Mark's down to earth approach and depth of understanding of pupil’s interests and motivating factors empowered teachers to envisage how to stimulate and engage pupils and explore a wide spectrum of opportunity for the delivery of exciting science. This was an extremely useful CPD opportunity for all the teachers."

- Billy Higgins, Quality Improvement Officer, City of Edinburgh Council (2006)
