- Typical samples of teachers’ feedback about Dr Mark’s CPD/INSET

Typical sample of feedback about the ‘INSPIREmathsTM’ teachers’ CPD/INSET:

- Claire Harris, Schools Advisory Service, Kent County Council (2006)

Typical sample of feedback about the ‘INSPIREscienceTM’ teachers’ CPD/INSET:

"Teachers definitely felt inspired to use different approaches to many of the science topics they delivered. Mark's down to earth approach and depth of understanding of pupil’s interests and motivating factors empowered teachers to envisage how to stimulate and engage pupils and explore a wide spectrum of opportunity for the delivery of exciting science. This was an extremely useful CPD opportunity for all the teachers."

- Billy Higgins, Quality Improvement Officer, City of Edinburgh Council (2006)

Dear Mark,

I am writing to thank you for your role in our first ever Science Week (2007) in the Hulton Excellence in Cities Action Zone-Salford.

I cannot begin to tell you how much the children in our nine Primary Schools enjoyed your Science Shows. Your half a day in each school achieved so much. Through your Show to the Juniors you demonstrated that Science-and Learning-can be fun and challenging. With such a variety of experiments, and the occasional trick, it was not surprising that the pupils were so well behaved. They were too engaged to even think about talking!

Although I was delighted with the response from the pupils I was equally impressed with the Twilight Session we arranged for Teachers. For this voluntary after school in-service over sixty teachers attended and found it entertaining, fun and above all useful. I'm sure that the free website address you gave them for classroom ideas and resources has been inundated.

But the real achievement was to attract over seventy people to our Year 6 Parents Science Show on the wettest night so far this November! What a wonderful atmosphere you generated and how the parents appreciated it. Well done. They were reluctant to leave even at 8.30pm!!

Good luck with all that you do in the future to inspire the children, their parents and our teachers. In years to come when people talk about Excellence and Enjoyment in Education this generation of Learners will remember ‘Dr Mark’.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Deegan

Director

Dear Mark,

On behalf of our school can I thank you for the brilliant workshop you provided for our children and parents. It was fun, informative, exciting and beneficial. Our children have had their interest and curiosity further fuelled. You were VERY well prepared, eager, enthusiastic and encouraging. You brought a great deal of fun to science experiences. GREAT.

Regards

Dear Mark

Just wanted to thank you for making our Maths Day something special.

I talked to children in the different year groups and they were all full of the WOW factor, which was just what I was after.

I had positive feedback from the staff, some of whom have been on your site – thanks for that too.

Thanks again

Best Wishes

Carol Harrison, West Hill Primary, 2007

Report from Rebekah Blondell:

Dr Mark was one of the speakers at our Primary Science Conference this year (2007) and the session he delivered about making science fun and exciting was truly magical! The teachers greatly enjoyed the hour-long session as it provided them with lots of ideas for ‘hands-on’ activities that can easily be used and developed in the classroom. Dr Mark engaged the audience through his approach to questioning and demonstration activities, which led to lots of participation and laughter! No mean feet considering he had over 100 teachers to please!
